Giants can show me something tonight

By Dr. Bill Chachkes-Football Reporters Online-Special to GFB

The Giants can show me something tonight. Everyone (including Dallas fans & NY haters everywhere) wants to believe that the Giants will choke tonight against Dallas. Not so fast Boys and Girls. The Giants are playing for a division title tonight, even though a win “only” gets them a 9-7 record. People are comparing them to the Seahawks of last year, when there is no real comparison. This year more then any other recent season, we saw “Pete’s Parity“ (named for Former NFL Head Pete Rozelle, even though he didn’t “write” the computer program that creates the schedule, Former NFL office staffer Val Pinchback did) come into heavy play late in the season. In the 15th week, 22 teams still were trying to earn 7 of the 12 spots. That’s because of a computer controlled schedule more then any teams’ greatness(except for Green Bay).

We had been talking about this (the schedule) on the radio for the last several weeks on our various radio broadcasts. Many wonder if the Giants are in another late season free fall from grace. I don’t see it that way after last week. The Giants proved that when they outlasted the Jets, even when several Giant players had a “less then stellar” performance. The Giants knew after the dismal showing against a Redskin team they should have handily beaten, they came up the better team in the “Battle of NY.” Now the Jets are “out” of post-season contention with today’s loss to the Dolphins, while the Giants can make the post-season for the first time since 2008. Such is the pointed finger of fate in the NFL. One minute your in, and the next your out.

So now it’s time for the Giants to complete the task, seal the deal if you will. NY must play their A+ game tonight. It’s not just jobs that are on the line, it’s the sanity of Giants fans everywhere. If the Giants can’t beat Dallas tonight, the fans will have to listen to Cowboys fans trumpet their teams “greatness” for a long time. That is something no one who roots for the “red white & blue” wants to have to deal with.

Here’s hoping that by 11:30 tonight Giants fans have the answers they have been longing for this year.

Giants are very powerful and under-rated. Eli Manning is clutch which can't be measured on paper or by stats alone. Their D0Line is sick too and not in a bad way...
